What if, for two hours, you put your phone away and simply made something with your hands?
This Saturday, Zenful invites you to discover Kinusaiga — a beautiful Japanese fabric art technique where pieces of fabric are arranged and tucked into a design to create colourful, textured artwork.
For this workshop, we’ll be creating a landscape-inspired Kinusaiga artwork together.
You don’t need to know how to sew.
You don’t need to know how to paint.
You don’t need to consider yourself an artist.
Just come with a little curiosity and we’ll guide you through the rest.
What will you do?
We’ll start by getting familiar with Kinusaiga and the simple technique behind it.
Then you’ll:
🧵 Choose your fabrics
Explore a colourful selection of fabric scraps and pick the colours and textures you love.
🌿 Create your landscape
Use a prepared landscape design as your starting point and begin building your artwork piece by piece.
✂️ Cut, layer & tuck
Learn how to work with the fabric and create the different sections of your landscape using the Kinusaiga technique.
🎨 Play with colour & texture
Experiment with combinations, contrasts and different fabrics to make the artwork your own.
✨ Slow down & enjoy the process
There’s no pressure to make it “perfect”. The workshop is about getting away from the screen, working with your hands and enjoying the creative process.
🖼️ Take your artwork home
At the end of the session, you’ll have your own handmade Kinusaiga landscape to take home.
